Scientific Animation without Borders (SAWBO) has developed a free to distribute global animated tutorial that demonstrates best practices to protect against and to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The animation is currently available in twenty different languages (i.e. Bengali, Spanish, Malagasy, Zulu), and more are added every day, making it a good tool for prevention in rural communities worldwide. It can also be shared through WhatsApp networks, website and social media sites. In order to do so, persons can download the material through SAWBO library or YouTube site.

The Latin American division of CropLife has also worked on a poster with recommendations for farm workers as to how to protect themselves from COVID-19. The poster includes simple instructions accompanied by pictograms, that can help curb the spread of the disease.

A high-resolution .pdf version of this poster is available for download here:

Vanessa Campoverde, a University of Florida/IFAS Extension Agent working for ornamental plant nurseries in Miami Dade County, compiled some information (with images) that can be used in helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst workers in the Agricultural industry.

She highlights this is not a substitution for The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention information, and recommends extension agents and farmers to us it as an additional safety resource.

The information has been compiled in the format of fact sheets currently available in English and Spanish.

The African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) has developed a questionnaire to support assessing the preparedness of AFAAS members and stakeholders to face the COVID-19 pandemic. The information collected through this questionnaire will serve as the basis for producing targeted messages and tools to be distributed amongst the RAS networks.

You can contribute with this questionnaire and assess your preparedness here.

Some important parameters: If you haven't got a minimum of 10/14 on this test, you must get more information and FOLLOW THE COMING DISCUSSIONS organized by AFAAS related to fighting COVID-19. The discussions are planned as follows:

  • Week 1: What must you know about COVID-19? How to minimize risk?
  • Week 2: Helping to reduce and eradicate COVID-19? What can you do?
  • Week 3: How to continue to be productive during the pandemic?

GFRAS will promote these discussions, and you can also get more information by contacting AFAAS via: Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.
