AGRIDEA is a resource and capacity building organisation for professionals working in rural and agricultural development in Switzerland and around the world. It operates in two centres – one in Lindau and the other one in Lausanne. While our main work takes place in Switzerland, our Team for International Cooperation with broad working experience in developing countries, countries in transition and other industrialised countries, constitutes a competence centre for rural and agricultural development in international contexts.

Working efficiently, effectively and in a spirit of partnership, we support people and societies in developing, transition and industrialised countries in shaping their own futures and improving living conditions. This is what the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is all about. Established on 1 January 2011, it brings together under one roof the long-standing expertise of the Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (DED) gGmbH (German Development Service), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH (German technical cooperation) and Inwent – Capacity Building International, Germany. As a federally owned enterprise, we support the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We are also engaged in international education work around the globe.

Rimisp - Centro Latinoamericano para el Desarrollo Rural es una organización regional latinoamericana sin fin de lucro que inició sus labores en 1986. Su fin es el desarrollo rural latinoamericano, entendido como el fortalecimiento de las capacidades de los diversos grupos sociales rurales y como la expansión de las libertades de las personas que integran las sociedades rurales de nuestra región.

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations, was established as an international financial institution in 1977 as one of the major outcomes of the 1974 World Food Conference.

Support to Farmers’ Organizations in Africa Programme (SFOAP)

The Support to Farmers’ Organizations in Africa Programme (SFOAP) was initiated in 2009 to provide assistance to membership-based farmers’ organizations in sub-Saharan Africa, which are made up of tens of millions of smallholders and family farmers. The programme strengthens the institutional capacity of these organizations, and helps them have a greater say in agricultural development policy and programmes.
