    The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development is a network of 34 bilateral and multilateral donors, international financing institutions, intergovernmental organisations and development agencies. Members share a common vision that agriculture and rural development is central to poverty reduction, and a conviction that sustainable and efficient development requires a coordinated global approach. Following years of relative decline in public investment in the sector, the Platform was created in 2003 to increase and improve the quality of development assistance in agriculture and rural development.

    GFAR seeks to integrate research with the societies it aims to serve and puts farmers and the explicit needs of the poor at the very core of agricultural research and innovation systems. The Global Forum does not directly implement research programmes: agreed actions are delivered through the organizations, networks and agencies involved in, and accountable for, the generation and use of agricultural knowledge for development around the world.

    YPARD is an international movement by Young Professionals FOR Young Professionals in Agricultural Research for Development. YPARD operates as a network; it is not a formalized institution.

    This global on-line and off-line communication and discussion platform is meant to enable YPs all over the world to express their ideas and realize their full potential towards a dynamic ARD.

  • Web Link Prolinnova

    Promoting Local Innovation in ecologically oriented agriculture and natural resource management is a community of practice involving partners in several countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Initiated by NGOs, this Global Partnership Programme under the umbrella of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) embraces both state and non-state organisations. It promotes recognition of local innovation by women and men farmers as an entry point to farmer-led participatory research and development. The ultimate aim is to integrate this approach into institutions of agricultural research, extension and education. Funding has come mainly from the Netherlands and French Governments, GFAR, Rockefeller Foundation and partners’ own contributions.

  • Web Link Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition
    The Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN Forum) was established by FAO’s Agricultural Development Economics Division in 2007 to address the need for increased knowledge exchange in the Food Security and Nutrition area. It offers a neutral and facilitated online platform for interaction among the different communities involved in Food Security, such as academics, researchers, development practitioners and policy-makers. 
    The Forum reflects FAO’s objective to strengthen its outreach and to address a wider range of stakeholders by using informal, uncomplicated and efficient ways of communication. 
    The Forum has been awarded with the FAO Innovation Fund.

    Depuis sa création, Inter-réseaux Développement rural a connu différentes modalités d’organisation.
    Dans les années 80, des réseaux thématiques sur le développement rural ont été créés, à l’initiative des pouvoirs publics français et de personnes engagées dans la coopération entre pays du Nord et du Sud.
    En 1996, trois de ces réseaux « Groupements, associations villageoises organisations paysannes » (GAO), « Recherche-Développement » et « Stratégies Alimentaires » ont fusionné pour former « Inter-réseaux Développement rural », avec un rattachement institutionnel à l’Adeprina.

Our website shows which videos are available, in which subjects and in which languages. The videos can be seen on-line, but they can also be downloaded.  In addition the audio tracks can be downloaded for use by radio stations.

    The Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) promotes efficient and productive agriculture, biodiversity conservation and sustainable community development by creating social and environmental standards. The SAN is a coalition of leading conservation groups that links responsible farmers with conscientious consumers by means of the Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM seal of approval. Our collective vision is based on the concept of sustainability, recognizing that the well-being of societies and ecosystems is intertwined and dependent on development that is environmentally sound, socially equitable and economically viable. The SAN develops, manages and owns the Sustainable Agriculture Standard.

  • Web Link TEChnologies and practices for small Agricultural producers (TECA)

    TECA is an interactive web-based platform for the sharing and exchange of sustainable technologies and practices in various formats (text, photo, video) for small agricultural producers. TECA users also include professionals from rural extension and advisory services, NGOs, research organizations, universities, producer organizations and the private sector. Downloading of information is free of charge, providing feedback and engaging in discussions only requires registration. 

  • Web Link Farming Knowledge Platform

    The Family Farming Knowledge Platform gathers digitized quality information on family farming from all over the world; including national laws and regulations, public policies, best practices, relevant data and statistics, research, articles and publications.
    It provides a single access point for international, regional and national information related to family farming issues; integrating and systematizing existing information to better inform and provide knowledge-based assistance to policy-makers, family farmers’ organizations, development experts, as well as to stakeholders in the field and at the grassroots level.

    GCHERA brings together Higher Education Associations from around the world, each of which represent universities teaching agricultural and life sciences. At this time, GCHERA has 14 member associations who collectively represent 950 universities, in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.

    The global higher education community represented by GCHERA plays a leadership role in education, research and outreach to address key global challenges, including food and nutritional security, food safety, and sustainable agricultural development.
