RENER was born in September 2014 as a group of higher education institutions that seek an active participation of these institutions in the agricultural and rural development of the country through research, training and knowledge management around rural and agricultural extension. Its Board of Directors is made up of professors of rural and agricultural extension from the universities of Antioquia, Amazonia, Nariño, UPTC, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Caldas, and Uniagraria. Subsequently, other universities have been integrated such as the National of Colombia, La Salle, Tolima, Unipamplona, Manizales, Juan de Castellanos, Tecnológica de Pereira, Minuto de Dios, Unicauca and Unillanos, for a total of 17 institutions with active participation in this process of co-construction of knowledge.
