Nutrition Working Group

Introduction

Burundi ECECHOMartin KarimiRural advisory services (RAS) are widely seen as a promising channel for improving nutrition in rural communities because of their ability to improve practices in rural households through consistent provision of services and far-reaching networks. Although the concept of leveraging RAS for improved nutrition has been discussed since the 1970s, questions remain on how to best deliver “nutrition-sensitive agricultural” services to rural households through RAS. The Nutrition Working Group (NWG) provides a central forum for RAS actors to create, share, and promote good practices on this topic that will inform their own practices and policy at all levels.

GGP Note #25: Promoting Nutrition-sensitive Extension Advisory Services, Stefan Kachelriess-Matthess, Annemarie Matthess, Anna Stancher, Ben Asare, and Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa, 2016

GGP Note #26: Involving Men in Nutrition, Philip Erick Otieno, Cathy Rozel Farnworth, and Nelson Banda, 2016
