daviddollyDuring the period 28 February - 1 March 2013, a regional meeting of extension experts was held at the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), with representatives from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago. The meeting, which was hosted by the UWI in collaboration with the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Service (GFRAS) was convened under the banner “Networking for Change”.

With more than 100 participants from different sectors, the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Latin American Network for Rural Extension Services took place in Santa Cruz, Bolivia from 10 to 12 October 2012. During the meeting, the main strategic topics of RELASER were ratified: innovation, generation of evidence and capacity building. The importance of the National Forums of RELASER were highlighted; Colombia and Paraguay presented their experiences and several new countries expressed their interest in building new forums. Additionally, a thematic group of academics from universities was build within the network that aim to contribute from their perspective.

In July 2012 RAS stakeholders and experts met in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, to elaborate a strategy for the launch of the French speaking RAS network in Western and Central Africa, RESCAR-AOC. The proceedings and the final declaration are now available.
