Regional APIRAS Forum on RAS in Asia
We are pleased to invite you as a participant to the “Regional Forum on Strengthening Rural Advisory Services in Asia and the Pacific Islands” to be held on 14 and 15 September 2011 at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Campus in Laguna Province, Philippines. This regional forum is jointly sponsored by SEARCA, the UPLB, and the Global Forum on Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS).
What is the aim of the upcoming APIRAS conference?

Preparation for the Organizational Meeting
Prepared and circulated among the APIRAS members a concept note on the proposed 2-days organizational meeting in Asia. The proposal has two objectives: a) to determine the best organizational configuration that will address RAS requirements over a wide diversity of countries in the region, and (b) determine the need-areas for capacity development/strengthening across diverse group of countries.

AESA - Agricultural Extension in South Asia
The idea of a portal on Agricultural Extension in South Asia emerged during the consultations on extension and advisory services organised by the APIRAS (Asia Pacific Islands Rural Advisory Services Network) at Los Banos, Philippines (14-15 September, 2011) and the GFRAS (Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services) at Nairobi, Kenya (13-18 November 2011).
