Selection Process and Criteria

A limited number of participants will be financially supported to attend the 5th GFRAS Annual Meeting. The organising committee[1] will select sponsored participants in a way that secures the best possible balance of regions, sub-regions, and actor groups. In addition, it will use the following criteria to select sponsored participants:

  • Value added to strengthen the global and regional fora (e.g. new links to stakeholder groups, future contributions to activities)
  • Value added to discussions and initiatives on policy influencing
  • Motivation, including self-contribution
  • Gender
  • Nomination by a (sub-) regional network

Selection process

The organising committee will select sponsored participants based on the nomination by (sub-) regional focal points and a defined process:

  • By 10 June, sponsorship-seeking participants can contact (sub-) regional GFRAS focal points (see list below) and apply for nomination, copying the organising committee member who is closest to their country of residence, and the GFRAS secretariat (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Applicants should address the criteria listed under “selection criteria” in their email.
  • By 20 June, (sub-) regional GFRAS focal points rank and nominate sponsorship seeking participants based on the criteria mentioned above. The organising committee validates the ranking and selects the sponsored participants.
  • By 27 June, sponsorship-seeking participants will be informed about the selection result.
